Who we are

Exam Lifeboat is a coaching service run by Harjot Singh, a sole trader based in Birmingham, UK. Harjot Singh is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us on WhatsApp at +44 7344 517496 or by email at examlifeboat@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • When you get in touch: your name, phone number and the messages you send.
  • When you book coaching: the candidate's name, the test being prepared for, the test date, availability, homework, progress notes and assessment reports.
  • When you pay: the amount, the date and the payer's name as shown by the bank or payment provider. We never see or store card details.
  • If the candidate is under 16: the parent or guardian's name and contact details.

Why we use it

  • To provide the coaching you've booked, including session planning, homework reports and mock test feedback. The legal basis is the contract between us.
  • To reply to your enquiries before you book. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.
  • To keep financial records for tax. The legal basis is our legal obligation.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the coaching: Zoom for live sessions, WhatsApp for messages, and our bank or payment provider for payments. Each of these handles your information under its own privacy policy.

This website

This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your device's IP address when a page loads. Our hosting provider also keeps basic technical logs to keep the site running and secure.

How long we keep it

Coaching records, such as progress notes and homework reports, are deleted 12 months after your last session. Payment records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Message us on WhatsApp or email examlifeboat@gmail.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
